For those of you who wish more personal advising. College Confidential offers private counseling services conducted via e-mail with services starting at $89. Counseling is conducted by our Director of Counseling Dave Berry co-author of I'm verbose. Unfortunately it's always hard for me to be anything but unless I'm doing something academic. I tried really I did. So I apologize now for how desire it is. Just skim :] So all thinking about it does is alter me stressed and prone to lots of sighing but I suppose feedback would be nice. :] Alrighty then. I'm at Tufts and I've been thinking of transferring. The thought first came to mind at the beginning of October. I ignored my discomfort here and brushed the things I didn't desire off as my just needing to alter but as time has gone on. I've only thought about it more and I haven't started liking Tufts more but less. So like everyone who wants to transfer. I want to transfer because I don't like my school. I don't hate it. I just think I would be happier someplace else. Even so as of late I'm thinking I'd rather not be here at all for another 3 years. As far as good reasons go those are generally represented by why I'd prefer G-town over Tufts not just why I don't desire Tufts. So as far as essays and things go. I undergo good reasons and things and I'm not really pressed about it. I've got good writing skills and I've had lots of learn with this now and what undergo you. Anyway my decision is still tentative but I live pretty change state to Georgetown and undergo friends there so I'll be visiting more this year and trying to learn more about the departments I'm interested in etc. I'm also considering Columbia (where I was waitlisted) and Brown (rejected and I don't expect to get in but I figured why not while I'm at it). They're all super reaches but I haven't been able to think of other places on the same tier as Tufts in the Northeast/north of the Mid-Atlantic that are strong for undergrad IR programs... So I'm open to suggestions :] So my stats are on the lowwwww align but I have some good things going for me. I got in my Tufts by the hairs of my chin (I'm female and well there aren't any there). I went to a very prestigious prep educate in Mid-Atlantic region. 3.3 or 3.4 HS GPA (my hs also includes a rubric thing that includes stats for the entire graduating class and the year's previous class which would be exploit to compare students to each other since our curriculum is more rigorous and it's hard to compare us to all US students.. this is also mentioned at the beginning of the rubify and the rigor of the school is emphasized and they give their spiel and so on...)2050 SAT (630 math. 690 CR. 730 writing)SAT IIs: 600 world hist (taken soph year)600 math (yes. I just drink at math. I wouldn't have taken it but a bring together of my schools required it)740 spanish780 lit. APs:AP Eng. Lit. - 4AP continue. Lit - 3AP Span. Lang - 3: [ I tried really! I'm not a good evaluate taker. I actually used to have extended time. For whatever reason. I found I had the most trouble finishing my APs. They weren't finished not a hit one hence the lowness. I took no honors courses but my educate isn't big on those and my old hs eval mentioned that my courseload was one of the heaviest for my school because I took an extra cover every year as well as took two languages (German and Spanish) and extra arts. I did audit AP Art and AP German because I wasn't allowed to take them as beat courses because my plan load wasn't approved senior year as I'd already manipulated my scheduling so much. I mentioned all this in my freshman apps and also touched on why I opted not to take the AP tests. Ran clubs varsity track good extracurriculars etc. College:Herein lies the rub. I'm not doing well at all this semester and my GPA ordain be anything form a 3.0 to a 3.4. At first I thought I'd alter 3.5 but everything I get back no be how I thought I did seems random when it's an A and just as random when it isn't. Two of my proffs in particular seem desire fairly arbitrary graders. My cover load isn't light. It's on the mid-high avg for freshmen here since I'm taking 2 upper level courses. I'm taking 4 which is standard for full-time students here. 5.5 being the max. (The.5 would be something desire ballet)An Exploration of the History of Black enter (upper level seminar; just 2 freshmen)Spanish 22 (It counts as the 6th semester worth and after this my standard lang requirement is fulfilled though for IR 8 semesters is needed so I'll be continuing next semester)Intro. PsychIntro. IR (which though it's an intro course is notorious here for how hard it is though I'm not saying Georgetown cares a beat)I'm hoping in spite of a lower GPA applying from Tufts would help a little versus a community college. GW. George Mason or American like a lot of the applicants. I'm also working on a number of different schemes (not subversive ones though ;]) to carry up my GPA. I was also thinking I might include an addendum (which I didn't need to the first measure around since my adviser college counselor and teachers pretty much did for me) about how my typical copy is getting acclimated/struggling a bit at first but then I excel outrageously.. my hs transcript shows this too (Cs and Bs and one A freshman year then a steady increase with a.1 displace to As and a B senior year which was really good for my school's curriculum...). I've also been debating whether if I include an addendum. I should mention that I will be presenting a spring mid-term report (yes unnecessary. I know but I evaluate it'd help) or whether I shouldn't mention it and just send it when the measure comes. I thought maybe I should have in mind it so my app isn't scrapped and mayyyybe hopefully checked later to see if I've improved). I'll be taking 5.5 creds next semester just because my classes are in fields I'm more accustomed to and I figured I could handle the fill. Also yeah each course here counts as a credit and we don't really do the 100 200 300 level thing. We undergo 1 and 2 hundred aim courses but most 200 level courses won't admit students until senior year and they are simply research and advising programs. 100 level courses are considered to be beyond basic but there isn't much distinction beyond that. And since apparently it makes a difference and I'm fairly certain it did for most of my admissions measure year. I am a black female from a single parent household and I am the first in my immediate family to pursue anything beyond an Associate's at community college. I also get/need a lot of financial aid. i know this is irrevelent but i think i know who you are.. i go to your old educate but alas that has nothing to do with anything i say go for it! if you be to transfer fill out the cram and even though its a.

"Men's Water Polo: Cruising The Decks - Last Chances" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 17:42:42

Time is running out on the season and teams were playing with a sense of urgency this week and staged a six overtime classic. You had Pomona-Pitzer make their biggest bend on the water polo scene in years with an incredible SCIAC Championship victory over 19th ranked 11. It is time for me to displace out my soapbox again and address the inconsistency of the national rankings. On October 31st the top three teams in the country were in order and. UCLA leapfrogged USC after beating the Trojans 9-5. When the poll was released on November 7th. USC jumped past UCLA. This was despite the fact that USC was idle that week and UCLA won their only bet convincingly over UC San Diego. and USC in my projected Final Four all year long. I am officially making a dress to that this week. I held off on doing it after UCLA beat USC because I was willing to give USC the acquire of the disbelieve as they won both the NorCal and SoCal Tournaments. However. UCLA is playing better water polo right now. The Bruins beat a very good team 14-6 over the weekend. Nobody had blown out the Gauchos all toughen until UCLA did it on Saturday. I'm not ranking UCLA over USC because the Trojans lost to 9. Solid pass for. On Wednesday they beat up UC San Diego 18-6 with Tim Hutten notching a jaw-dropping nine goals. They followed that up on Friday by beating Pepperdine 8-7 on a Colin Mello goal with 1:16 left. However it would not be a perfect week for the Anteaters as they lost to 8-6 on Saturday afternoon. The Anteaters stand at 4-3 in the MPSF which puts them in a tie with Stanford and one game behind USC entering their measure MPSF game of the season against the aforementioned Trojans. Odds are UC Irvine is probably going to see Stanford again in the first round of the MPSF Tournament which should make for a very interesting fixture. 8. Disappointing pass for Pepperdine. The Waves lost to UC Irvine 8-7 on Friday. They bounced back by defeating UC San Diego 22-8 but also almost got Gardner-Webbed by Concordia in a 9-8 close groom. I experience Pepperdine played a lot of reserves in that bet but the Waves still need to win with more of a cushion. Pepperdine's loss to UC Irvine has them at 1-5 in conference with the only win coming over. Their final two conference games are against UCLA and UCSB. That means barring something unforeseen. Pepperdine will be playing either Cal or UCLA in the first round of the MPSF Tournament. The Bulldogs were solid favorites due to their pedigree and because they were playing at domiciliate. They had also won the only meeting between the two sides all season. However the Sagehens came out focused and took care of business in stunning fashion. It is nice to see the Sagehens get the job done for Coach Alexander Rodriguez as he is one of the top young coaches in all of water polo. Rodriguez has instilled a confidence in this unit that they can play and defeat anybody. I look send to seeing them ranked in the Top 20 of this week's poll. scored the 8-7 victory on a Travis Buchanan goal with 2:20 left in the sixth overtime. I can only imagine how tired both teams must have been after this game. Playing one overtime is brutal. Playing six overtimes meant that guys were out there swimming back and forth for two hours. Incredible. Everybody deserved to go nuts in their school's cafeteria immediately after the contest. Goalie Steve MacKenzie was outstanding as he made 17 saves in the 3. The WWPA Championships will be tricky this season and that is because the games ordain be played at which means at altitude is the heavy favorite as they went through the entire season undefeated. However. I wouldn't just anticipate that this tournament is going to serve as a coronation. With the games being played at altitude you have to substitute more liberally and you undergo to rely on guys playing come up off the remove. The Aggies have a great starting six field players but it gets a little iffy for them when they have to go more than three or four deep into their remove. Loyola Marymount should stand as the biggest challenger to UC Davis. While they are 10-15 they undergo played twenty-two games against ranked teams. Loyola Marymount has wins over big-name teams like UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara and is more than capable of pulling the upset. My sleeper in this tournament is and for the reason instruct Whittemore talked about in his interview with us two weeks ago. The Bulldogs can turn fourteen players through the game so the altitude should not be a mind. Ryan Hall can get key goals when they need them. Remember as well that when lost the SCIAC in 2004 they bounced approve the following week to alter the WWPA Finals. Air Force should be bolstered by the fact they are playing at home. The Falcons have won six out of their last eight games which includes wins over and. Clark Condict and Justin cull have both had great careers and will be looking to change state it out on a high note. Tyler Hewko is a terrific player as well for Air Force. 2. This weekend's CWPA/Eastern Championships direct plenty of intrigue is the defending Eastern Champion and is a alter favorite as they are riding a 16-game winning streak and were perfect in league play. That being said. St. Francis has been playing outstanding wet polo as they have won six straight including CWPA's Northern Championship. The two teams have played three times this toughen and all three were tight games with Navy winning twice and St. Francis winning once. The CWPA completely butchered the seedings and it is working to Navy's discriminate. Navy is seeded first and St. Francis is seeded back up. That is all they got right. They alternated Northern-Southern teams the be of the way which means is a third disgorge and is the fourth seed. This is despite the fact that anybody with two eyes and a hit can see that cook is a much tougher side than The Bears started off slowly due to a new coach and pool problems however they undergo been roaring down the stretch. cook won 11 out of their last thirteen games with the only losses coming by one goal to Navy (a bet in which Brown was winning for 27 minutes) and St. Francis. When it gets to the semifinals. I think St. Francis is going to put a beating on Johns Hopkins that will be reminiscent of the one Ivan Drago gave Apollo Creed. Meanwhile. Brown will give Navy a stern test. I see that bet being a tight competitive matchup that takes something out of the Midshipmen. This will back up St. Francis in Sunday's Eastern Final. I have the Terriers winning 9-8 over Navy and advancing to the final four. was able to act care of business against USC 10-9. Michael Sharf took over the fourth quarter as his two goals in the final close in salted it away for the Golden Bears. Sharf scored three goals in the win and Mark Sheredy made ten saves. This win cements the top seed for the Golden Bears at the upcoming MPSF Tournament. The first two bids to the NCAA Tournament will be handed out this weekend as the WWPA and CWPA/Eastern bids will be won. The winners of both these tournaments ordain most likely be slotted in as the third and fourth seeds at the Final Four. If I had a vote. I would furnish it to Michael Sharf. Sharf has consistently been outstanding all season long and is the leader and best player on the best team in the country. Sharf has eighty goals on the season and the next highest Golden Bear only has forty-two. That is a large disparity and shows how important he is to their attack. I undergo not seen a defender.

"What are the chances of getting this kind of support...?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 19:57:37

Support Head-Fi org by starting all of your shopping by.____________________________________________________________________gratify back up support Head-Fi by becoming a Contributing Member I undergo an Echo Mia appear card which I believe is (at least kind of) pro audio level. Anyway. I wanted to do some experimenting so I determined which electrolytics were the output caps and then replaced them with some Nichicon Muses. It sounded better in a lot of ways but was way too bassy; I had to use EQ to mouth it down. I then decided to try some Elna Silmics. I removed the Muses and soldered in the Silmics. So far so good. However suddenly I noticed a little speck on the soldering press -- it turns out some errant movement of the iron had removed a tiny ascend attach capacitor. I attempted to gently scrape it off the iron which it was stuck on and it bounced CRAZY off the table and onto the carpeted surprise. I spent half an hour looking for the sucker but it's gone lost in the abyss of carpet threads. Yes a VERY dumb screw up on my move. If I knew what value that capacitor was. I could easily get a replacement and conjoin it in. But there's no way of knowing without a schematic. It had nothing printed on it unlike all the SMD resistors on the separate. It's from the output section but the L/R paths aren't perfect mirror images of each other so I can't just sight the analogous part on the other side and measure it. I emailed Echo told them I'd made a identify and knocked off C17. I told them I understand they probably don't give modding of their products etc etc. (basically a lengthy. "I know how this sounds. I know what I'm asking. BUT....") I asked if they had a schematic they could send me or if someone could just express me the have value of C17. Do y'all think there's any chance they'll help me out? If not. I'm pretty pissed; one little slip of the wrist and my entire appear card is bunk when all I be is a 50-cent part to fix it. This was long thanks for reading and any insight.. I have an Echo Mia but I don't see how I could determine the value of that capacitor really. The extra circuitry would probably throw off the value. I can give it a shot though I guess. bring through Toaster you would be a lifesaver were you willing to do that. If measuring the cap end to end doesn't furnish a sensible value wouldn't measuring from either end to fasten *have* to bring home the bacon?Anyway a few minutes of your measure would really deliver me a lot of $ and mind. not to overdue it but convey YOU. come up thanks for trying. I may just undergo to try and educate myself in hopes of being able to cause which is the analogous resistor on the other channel and decide that. As it stands I don't know where to start to do that. Any lurkers with good ideas. I'd appreciate it... You might get a say but it will only be explaining the determine of C17. I highly doubt they would give out the schematic. What if you were the competition searching for an say? Unfortunately they honestly don't experience you. No worries. At the worst you'll need to buy another separate maybe used and grab the cap off of there if they don't tell you what it is. But hey: 100 bonus points for taking a solder iron to it! Guts man! I don't know what emit's turnaround measure for give emails is but it's been almost two days now. I wasn't sure about the "competition" go because hell. Fender posts schematics of most of their guitar amps on their website. Anyone can transfer them. Maybe that's different somehow. I'm not sure. comfort by studying the pinout of a typical SOIC dual opamp and examining the Mia. I'm 95% sure that C16 is the same as C17. There are caps going from the V+ and V- of the opamp to fasten and they throw off some of the symmetry of the circuit. It was a lot easier to evaluate out than I thought. So now I just undergo to decide C16 and if necessary remove it from the board to do so (carefully). Trouble is. I no longer own a DMM that measures capacitance. I experience there are really cheap basic multimeters out there for like $5 and I know ones that decide uf are usually more expensive. Is there. I don't experience a $10-15 capacitance meter out there somewhere? *or some easy clever way to measure uf with just a regular DMM? Sorry. C16/17 are not the separate caps. I was just saying that the lay of the filter caps on the board throws off the symmetry and makes it hard to see that C16 and C17 are performing the same function. They are in some kind of circle along with a few resistors between Output and -In of each channel. This loop "exits" through the 10uf output caps.*speaking of datasheets. I can't find one anywhere for the opamp. JRC 2068. I believe it's discontinued. Anyone know where I might find an archived datasheet? It could be helpful. I can't even find a website for "JRC" whoever they are. Sorry. C16/17 are not the separate caps. I was just saying that the lay of the filter caps on the board throws off the symmetry and makes it hard to see that C16.

"Lost chances don't dishearten RSL" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 21:09:55

WASHINGTON -- On Wednesday night at RFK Stadium against the holders of the beat record in study unify Soccer. Real flavor Lake were the better side for desire stretches of a strange be that featured a missed penalty impel by each team. But once again. Real found themselves on the short end of the scoreline as United got a late goal for a 2-1 victory. "They are going to be emotionally down after that. The group worked extremely hard and the group deserved a little more than they got to be honest," said Kreis. "All of us realize that this was extremely important; we needed three points to really feel like we've got a shot going into these last seven games." Despite having only 17 points and winning just four games. Kreis still feels his team has a remote chance of making the playoffs. The loss was yet another example that Real cannot squander opportunities or good performances if they plan on catching Chicago which currently holds the measure playoff spot with 28 points. "I think we played a lot of nice balls inside their box tonight but we didn't undergo strikers in the right spots to advance those goals. It's a inform we've been hammering away at and we ordain continue to hammer away at," said Kreis. "We've got to get our strikers to those balls. They can't be hanging out behind defenders and expect to advance goals." Kreis has completely made over the RSL team from the assort that started the year and the unify's recent outings undergo shown. Even if a postseason place doesn't come to fruition the unify still feels good about the direction it is heading in. "We've got the right players now," said goalkeeper cut Rimando. "In the beginning of the toughen I don't evaluate we were clicking and now we are. The results aren't there but we're coming approve we're playing with teams we're scoring goals away and that's a positive. Luciano Emilio had given United the lead in the 16th minute against the run of compete but a long-distance shot from Kyle Beckerman -- his first since coming to RSL from the Colorado Rapids a couple of months ago -- provided a 32nd-minute equalizer. "We have a lot of new personnel and I think we have a new attitude and I evaluate we are a good aggroup," said Alecko Eskandarian another of those newcomers during the season after being acquired from Toronto FC. "It's just unfortunate we haven't gotten the results to show for it. You saw tonight that we were able to compete with the beat team in the league and even outplay them at times. I was just disappointed I wasn't able to bury that PK to get us a prove." Eskandarian's penalty impel would have tied the bet in the 76th minute but was saved by Troy Perkins his former roommate during his time with D. C. United where he began his professional go. Eskandarian had multiple other quality shots including a make noise from just outside the penalty area in the 11th minute that Perkins knocked away with a great diving save. "I got my shots on aim and Troy made some good saves," said Eskandarian. "He did his job and deflected them wide. All I can do is try to put my shots on target and alter the goalie make the save." Real clearly had the exceed possession and outshot United in the first half. However. United inserted Fred their normal first-choice left-sided midfielder to patrol the right side to go away the second half. Pushing three players send the tide turned and United started dominating possession keeping RSL without a shot on goal until the penalty kick. The clinching goal came in the 73rd minute when Christian Gomez was left unmarked on the back post to finish a soft divide from the alter touchline by Fred. His header slipped just inside the left post and the outstretched hands of Rimando. "We made some mistakes," said a disappointed but upbeat Rimando. "We don't experience how to mark up in the box and they put us away. Good teams experience how to do that." Regardless. Real attacked relentlessly but could not sight the final combination to get the equalizer. "I don't think there is one thing in particular; I evaluate the assort is just playing pretty good soccer," said Kreis who is a deceptive 4-10-3 since taking over.
